How do I get started?
As an MFI, there are two main ways to approach SPM integration:
1) Starting from the ground up: A systematic approach
This approach sees MFIs starting with their mission/intent, then aligning information systems, and other operational areas in turn. It tooks at SPM as a whole, and considers each aspect of your strategy and operations from the point of view of your overall social objectives.
MFIs taking this path should start by:
- Downloading the Imp-Act SPM training materials to work through their SPM system design one step at a time
- Visiting the Imp-Act SPM Resource Centre for support on key aspects of the process
2) Focusing on key performance challenges: An issue-based approach
This approach sees MFIs starting with a "burning issue" - often a crisis, such as a sudden increase in client exit. They look at results in their issue area, and go back to clarify objectives and adjust systems and processes to address the problem.
MFIs taking this path should start by:
- Visiting the SPM Resource Centre for guidance on key issues in SPM
