17 November 2011: Introductory Course on Social Performance Initiatives, Indicators and Tools

Facilitated by the Social Performance Task Force

This daylong course has been designed for people who are new to social performance and for those who seek clarity on the social performance initiatives. The course will provide an overview of the social performance common framework, social performance indicators by MIX, a variety of social performance assessment tools (audit and rating tools) and an explanation of how various social performance initiatives, such as the Smart Campaign: Client Protection Principles, the Seal of Excellence for Poverty Outreach and Transformation in Microfinance, MFTransparency and the Social Performance Task Force come together.

18 November 2011: Becoming a more effective organisation: Integrating social performance into your strategy and management systems

Facilitated by Anton Simanowitz, Imp-Act Consortium

This course is designed for MFI managers who want practical guidance of how to make their organisations more effective by managing both social and financial performance. Specifically it will look at how the existing products, services, systems and management can be improved to help the organisation reach more poor and excluded people, deliver greater benefits for their clients, protect their clients from harmful practices, and above all improve the quality of their services.

The workshop is for senior MFI staff, as a follow-on to the day-long course on the previous day. As such, it assumes a basic understanding of social performance and will be a practical session helping participants think about what they need in their own organisations to be more effective. Participants will leave the workshop with a plan of specific actions they can implement on return to their organisation.
