Oikocredit
Oikocredit, as a worldwide cooperative society, promotes global justice by challenging people, churches and others to share their resources through socially responsible investments, and by empowering disadvantaged people through access to credit.
Because creating a positive social impact is the driving force behind its activities, it undertakes formal assessments of the social outcomes achieved by its MFI partners, as well as case studies of individual borrowers who have been able to turn their lives around. Oikocredit's work in social performance and impact measurement focuses on four areas:
- choosing the right project partners
- monitoring performance indicators
- helping project partners to monitor, assess and improve their own social performance
- supporting and initiating full impact assessments of selected project partners.
