Grameen Foundation

Grameen Foundation is a global organisation that combines microfinance, technology, and innovation to empower the world's poorest people to escape poverty.

Its Social Performance Management Center (SPMC) commissioned the development of the Progress out of Poverty Index (PPI) in 2005. The PPI is a simple and accurate measurement and management tool that allows MFIs to assess changes in clients’ poverty level over time, and to respond appropriately. The SPMC training team carries out PPI orientation, PPI pilot training, pilot testing support, implementation support, training-of-trainer workshops, advisory services, and data analysis training. The team also produces research papers, case studies and innovative analysis of social and financial data to support its extensive SPM advocacy work throughout the industry.
