Imp-Act Consortium

Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI)

CARD is a group of mutually reinforcing institutions that provides financial and non-financial services to landless poor women and micro-entrepreneurs in the Philippines.

An original member of the Imp-Act action research programme, CARD’s approach to SPM is shaped by a desire to support its long-term sustainability as well as the educational and financial well-being of its clients. To achieve this, its research unit uses simple tools to listen to clients and help management make the best decisions. These tools include market research, impact monitoring, poverty measurement (the Progress out of Poverty Index, or PPI), and social performance auditing using the Quality Audit Tool (QAT). CARD also provides SPM technical assistance to other MFIs throughout Southeast Asia.
