SPM training

The Consortium has developed a range of training products that can be adapted to meet your organisation’s needs.
These include:
Core SPM strategy workshop (four days)
This course is for MFIs interested in improving operational performance through SPM. It’s also relevant to organisations and individuals that support and mentor MFIs in SPM. The training is targeted to those working at a strategic level. The course can be delivered in English, Spanish, or French.
SPM short course (three days)
Developed by EDA, this intensive course is for busy MFI managers who can’t take four days away from the office. It covers the core SPM strategy workshop, with the option of an additional day for practical, hands-on work.
SPM introductory course (two days)
Developed by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), this course is for technical staff of networks, support organisations, donors and investors, who want to understand and improve the social performance of their MFI partners. It will help participants to apply a social lens to an MFI’s strategic planning and design. The course focuses on five areas: social performance state of practice, SPM, social audits, rating, and reporting.
SPM for self-help group promoters
Developed by Freedom from Hunger and Reach India, this course equips organisations that promote self-help groups to improve their impact by examining and aligning their mission, strategy, operations, and results to make a positive difference to poor people’s lives.
Training of trainers
We have developed a week-long course to equip trainers with the skills and knowledge they need to offer Consortium SPM training courses to MFIs. Want to become an SPM trainer? Contact the Secretariat to find out more>
