The Consortium uses the Quality Audit Tool (QAT), developed by MFC and IDS, to assess the quality of MFI performance management systems.

The QAT assesses the status and effectiveness of internal systems in relation to social performance management, and identifies areas where performance can be improved. It can be used as a basic self-assessment tool, or it can be integrated into the work of internal and external audit. It can also be used by external parties to conduct an objective assessment of management processes for the purposes of social rating.
